 Cloud Study
One of the best things about living in the mountains is watching the ever changeable weather come in for 60 miles around.  The Vivaldi piece we used as inspiration made me think of the summer clouds rolling by, and a unique phenomenon called virga, which is rain that evaporates before it hits the ground.

  1. Your interpretation is quite different in feel from the others, Betty. Love it, as usual!

  2. Love the clouds and love the stitching! Our clouds in FL are amazing too, you've inspired me to try and capture them one day.

  3. Yes, I particularly like the stitching too. A very interesting take on Vivaldi

  4. You've really captured both the heaviness and transparency of rain clouds. And I learned something new through your piece, which is always exciting! I've never heard of virga. Very cool.

  5. Soft colours for such dramatic music, but it works beautifully Betty, because of the drama in the imagery. Love it and I too had not heard of virga.

  6. Such a beautiful cloud study......I love the color of the sky. It's so interesting how many ways the music can be translated, and I get all of them when people tell their story.
